Ep. 22 - The Matti Kaups Archive

In this episode, we’re going to get super geeky and tell how Risto and Nahlah ended up traveling to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis to do sauna research in their archives. We decided to go on this daddy-daughter adventure after Risto discovered the Matti Kaups archive while reading the book The Opposite of Cold. Join us this week as we recount our adventures in the Matti Kaups archive!

School’s out for the summer, so we’re taking a few weeks break from podcast duties to enjoy the weather. We’ll be returning August 3rd. Thanks for joining us for these past 22 episodes as we discovered what Finnish sauna was, recounted our crazy adventures, and hosted friends on the podcast.

When we return, we’ll have stories about staying on a private island and jumping into the lake from a diving board in the middle of the night. We’ll talk about meeting the famous architect David Salmela. We travel to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan again and continue exploring one of our favorite places in North America. We’ll share the story of being interviewed for a newspaper article, and our chaotic trip to Ely, Minnesota where we totaled our van and sprained an arm while in the middle of nowhere. We have lots more stories to share! Enjoy your summer and we’ll see you in August.
